About Archangel Lightworks:

We are building the future to make the world (and the solar system) a more connected place! We’re developing space (and ground, air, sea, etc.) laser communication technology which will be used to create solutions to some of Earth’s most critical problems from economic inclusion to climate change!

Join us and you’ll be at the cutting edge of (free space) laser communications technology doing work that really matters. We care about our team and will provide you with a fast-paced, challenging and fulfilling environment to leverage your existing skills while you grow and develop.

  • Managing and executing system design processes for high-performance free space optical communication terminals (1-100Gbps+)
  • System and subsystem level trade analysis on a performance and cost basis
  • Defining and tracking of system requirements from initial use case definition, subsequent subsystem and component requirement derivation
  • Defining and maintenance of technical budgets (link, pointing, mass, volume, and data budgets)
  • Interfacing with external parties on a technical basis as required, potentially with overseas travel
  • Creating test plans and specifications and overseeing Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) activities
  • Managing project and product technical data
  • Managing system configuration, changes and associated processes

  • Experience developing systems of comparable complexity (e.g. satellite communication systems or electro-optic systems/payloads)
  • Experience with MBSE and relevant MBSE tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect)
  • Experience with systems engineering through full product lifecycle.
  • A logical approach to problem solving and presentation of information
  • Strong mathematical fundamentals including linear algebra and numerical methods
